Cal Ós means “the house of the bear” in Catalan.
The name reflects our mountain surroundings in the French Pyrenees, but it is also a nod to our family name, de Beer, which means “the bear” in Dutch. A simple, rooted identity, shaped by the spirit of this place.
Located in Fontpédrouse, Cal Ós is a small, human-scale grocery store and bar, designed as a warm and authentic stop along the way. We welcome travellers, hikers, motorcyclists and locals alike for a coffee, a local beer, a homemade waffle or carefully selected regional products.
Between winding mountain roads, natural hot springs and hiking trails, Cal Ós is the perfect stop after a visit to the Bains Saint-Thomas thermal baths or a walk through the Gorges de la Carança. A place to slow down, breathe, and feel at home.
Nothing excessive here — just a sincere, human stop, in rhythm with the mountains.
